PROJECTS

1

FALL FOOD FUNDRAISER

Held in the Fall to raise funds for potatoes and other root vegetables which will be stored for the winter. This food will last most of the year.

Average yearly cost $2,000-$2,500

4

ONGOING FUNDING

One of the major challenges facing the center is the ongoing monthly salaries to employees even though the salary is extremely low by even Ukrainian standards.  The center employs the following staff to keep the center running smoothly at all times.  Director (1), Caregivers (2 female, 2 male), Nurse (1), and Cooks (3).

Estimated costs = $36,000 per year

2

PROJECT CHRISTMAS

Held early November of each year. Christmas wishes are gathered from the current residents of the center. Gifts are purchased and shipped by mid-November for arrival mid-December. Christmas is celebrated in Ukraine typically January 6th, 7th, or 8th and follows the Gregorian calendar.

Average yearly costs $2,000-$3,000

3

REPAIR FUND

With 20-30 kids and workers coming and going the center takes a beating.  Most of the center has been completely remodeled over the last few years thanks to donations.  If you would like to contribute to a repair fund to meet the on-going needs let us know.

Average yearly costs $1,000-$2,000

5

MEDICAL FUNDING

Although some kids at the center are "true" orphans most are "social orphans."  This means we need to entirely fund their care. One on-going need is to keep our medical fund fully funded.  Accidents happen and emergency medical care is needed.  Moreover, Marina likes to treat every child like her own.  This means dental care, braces, etc.  Any help to this fund is always appreciated.

Estimated costs = $3,000
